Catch and remove raccoons from attic. Michigan Wildlife Removal: Wildlife capture and removal is of course, an essential part of nuisance wildlife control. While most people appreciate nature, they do not always appreciate the destruction of property, disturbance of peace, or health risks that wild animals in and around the home cause. The goal of Michigan Wildlife Removal is to quickly and humanely eliminate the animals causing the problems. The goal is not to eliminate every animal in the neighborhood, just the target ones causing you the headaches. For example, if a raccoon is living in your chimney, Michigan Wildlife Removal will not set traps on the ground, which may catch any number of non-target raccoons or other animals. Michigan Wildlife Removal will go right for the target animals in the chimney.

Chimney Animals: Animals living in a chimney are typically the result of having an uncapped chimney that is either near branches or on a home that is frequented with animals. Common situations for Michigan wildlife in chimneys is raccoons and raccoon mother with litters of babies denning in the spring, squirrels that have fallen down the chimney and are unable to climb back up, birds that have fallen down and are unable to fly up the chimney, chimney swifts which are able to fly out once reaching adult size, bat colonies roosting inside of the chimney and we have even encountered a duck that had fell into the chimney and sadly died.Animal removal from chimneys will vary in methods from animal to animal. Raccoons are usually either fished out by hand or if the correct time of the year they areevicted with a hormone treatment, squirrels can typically be scared into running up a rope that has been dropped down the chimney, birds that can not fly must be hand removed, and chimney swifts and bats must be removed with a one way valve once the young are able to fly.

Oakland County Wildlife Removal Tip: Will repellents get a squirrel out of the attic? Raccoons are one of the squirrels biggest predators so if the squirrel can smell the bigger animal around, it’ll be more likely to flee and set up home somewhere else. That’s the fact of the matter - that’s the way the natural food chain works and sometimes, just sometimes, you can use this in your favor. If you have a squirrel in your attic, you won’t be able to deal with the problem completely until you’ve sealed up all the holes and fixed all the damage, but if trapping and removing the creature seems a little too difficult, there is one repellent you could try. It’s the only one that has been proven to have any effect - eviction fluid. It’s made with the urine and other bodily fluids from male raccoons and it can work to get rid of squirrels and female raccoons in some places. With squirrels, it’s because it thinks there is a threat of attack nearby. If you felt that, wouldn’t you want to move away too?

Raccoons are one of the most common animals to live inside attics. They can climb anything, and tear their way into almost anything. When they live inside your attic, it's their home - and their personal toilet as well. Raccoons can cause severe sanitation problems inside an attic - they poop and pee everywhere, and bring food and parasites inside as well. In some cases, the contamination can be severe. We highly recommend attic cleaning and restoration if you've had raccoons above your ceiling.

Many people have attempted their own forms of bat removal. Most have failed. Those who had the knowledge and experience of working with bats might have proven more successful because they knew what they were doing. However, anyone who attempts to undertake bat removal or control on their own without the proper training or knowledge is putting themselves and their family in jeopardy by doing so. It isn't easy to get rid of bats, and most of the home remedies and do-it-yourself solutions will be ineffective at best.

You could spend weeks of your time and a lot of your money on sealing your home, buying bat control devices, and attempting to fix your own bat problems. However, you won't likely experience good results in the end, because many different things can go wrong. If you get too close to the bats or disturb them too much, you run the risk of being bitten. Furthermore, if you try to seal them out of your home without a thorough inspection to make sure that they are out, you could very easily seal them in, which would be very bad. Bat removal is something that is much better handled by a professional company.

Bat removal involves someone coming into your home, assessing the situation, and then developing a plan of attack. They will generally go through and do a thorough inspection, at which point they will determine how big your bat problem is and what bat removal techniques are best. Generally, the easiest and most effective way to get rid of bats is with the use of bat control devices that work like one-way doors. Bats will be able to leave your home through these devices, but when they return, they won't be able to get back in. This will send them packing and looking for a new home.

When the professionals are done with bat removal in your home, they will inspect it once again to make sure all the bats are gone. Then, they will seal up any remaining cracks or gaps and remove the control devices. Once everything is finished, they will go through and clean up the bat guano with disinfectant or other solutions to kill all of the germs and bacteria to keep your family healthy. After all, bat guano is almost as dangerous as the bats themselves. This professional bat removal process is going to be much more effective than anything that you could do on your own, and will offer you a chance to have your home safe and healthy once again.

Nuisance animals cause odor problems in a variety of ways. Their excrement is a primary source of odor problems, and often quite noticeable if an animal has taken up residence somewhere in your home. Animal carcasses are another source of odor. Skunks present a whole other dimension in odor problems. I can identify the source of animal odors, and eliminate both the current source of the odor (for example, excrement removal) and the underlying cause (the animal's entry into your home). This work may be covered by homeowners insurance.

Want to know more about the ABC's of what this area under discussion has to propose to every human being who is willing to do things for themselves? During an inspection of the structure needing bat eviction I can determine the size of the colony and the best time of the year to remove the bats. During certain times of the year bats form nursery colonies. Depending on your geographical area the bats can only be removed when the young bats are able to fly. We like to use a one-way door or referred to as a valve.

These unidirectional escapes lets the bats escape not allowing the bats back in. This type of bat control eviction is approved by the organization Bat Conservation International. The utmost critical thing in bat removal from a residence is attention to all the little construction gaps. When closing all construction gaps, anything larger than an a quarter inch should be sealed. You have to seal the entire home to foil bats from getting back in. You will go as far as sealing any fault or construction crack. Ill need to exclude vents to keep bats out, let's start by closing off louver vents, attic vents, and ridge vents if bats can breach them using 1/4 inch screen. These can be painted to match, but I have found it blends in nicely left unpainted.

Inspect chimneys, bricks and mortar may be loose forming gaps. Look for gaps around where the chimney goes through soffit, carefully seal gaps and install a one-way door, if a bat way in is there. Ridge venting systems are feasible bat entrances. When looking at the ridge vent closely you'll usually find the plastic ridge vents deform leaving gaps, I've seen where varmints have chewed a gap in the vent. I will do away with the previous roof vent system and replace it. Primarily, you lay down 1/4 inch hardware cloth this keeps the bats, mice and squirrels from getting through. We will install a one-way bat door here also if the bats were using this area. Finally you'll finish the attic vent with a vent system referred to as Cobra vent, and then finish it with top cap shingles. We try to color match any calking, tin work and exclusion work to make it merge in as if we have not had to fix the construction defects. We use paintable caulking, the silicon based calks will tinge over time.

I build my own one-way doors. After ten years of bat control, I came up with an easy effective one-way valve for bat removal. You can purchase commercially produced bat cones but I personally think they are too short and have no airflow at the base where it is attached to the structure. These one-way doors are left on for about two weeks, to let bats leave. Then I can remove the one-way door and then block the entrance. After the bats have exited through the one-way doors the bats will try for several nights to get back in, by looking for another entrance, this is why sealing every possible entrance needs to be done. This is how to evict bats.Find out more by reading our other articles on this topic and other subjects we have written related to it.
