One of the most common complaints involving nuisance wildlife is the noise they can produce in a home. Many home owners may be unaware that they even have an unwanted visitor in their home if not for the noise. Certain animals may spend their time crawling around (and doing other things) in their newfound home (your attic, soffits, walls, garage, etc.). The scurrying scratching, chewing, or vocal noise that you hear may be most unwelcome, particularly from nocturnal animals. The primary culprits are raccoons, squirrels, rats, and mice, but other creatures may be at work. Give me a call, and I will identify the source of the noise, as well the means by which the animals are entering the structure. Get the problem fixed, and you will sleep better at night!

Raccoons are one of the most common animals to live inside attics. They can climb anything, and tear their way into almost anything. When they live inside your attic, it's their home - and their personal toilet as well. Raccoons can cause severe sanitation problems inside an attic - they poop and pee everywhere, and bring food and parasites inside as well. In some cases, the contamination can be severe. We highly recommend attic cleaning and restoration if you've had raccoons above your ceiling.

"The squirrel management plan was developed with public input to improve the health of the state's squirrel group of squirrels, to encourage healthy habitat, which squirrel and all other wildlife depend on, and to reduce squirrel-human conflicts," the animal control official announced. "We believe this squirrel management program will improve the health of our squirrel group of squirrels and the habitat that supports it and other wildlife. "Yes, wildlife trapping has become more challenging in many areas. However, the benefits from our program changes are unmistakable, as pest control companies have reported seeing and harvesting larger squirrel; land managers and foresters are seeing some regeneration recovery in our forests; and farmers are telling us that they have seen less damage to their crops," the animal control official announced. Chimney Animals: Animals living in a chimney are typically the result of having an uncapped chimney that is either near branches or on a home that is frequented with animals. Common situations for Michigan wildlife in chimneys is raccoons and raccoon mother with litters of babies denning in the spring, squirrels that have fallen down the chimney and are unable to climb back up, birds that have fallen down and are unable to fly up the chimney, chimney swifts which are able to fly out once reaching adult size, bat colonies roosting inside of the chimney and we have even encountered a duck that had fell into the chimney and sadly died.Animal removal from chimneys will vary in methods from animal to animal. Raccoons are usually either fished out by hand or if the correct time of the year they areevicted with a hormone treatment, squirrels can typically be scared into running up a rope that has been dropped down the chimney, birds that can not fly must be hand removed, and chimney swifts and bats must be removed with a one way valve once the young are able to fly.
